Our clients had bought the investment property off plan 18 months prior to being referred to us by long term Affinitas clients. The developer had experienced delays meaning our clients were stuck in limbo waiting for the property to settle.

Our client was presented with an incredible opportunity they couldn’t refuse, but it meant becoming self-employed just as the property was completed.

Typically lenders want to see 2 years trading results before they will lend to self-employed borrowers. A brand-new ABN presents a very real challenge. In this case, our client was applying for his ABN on the day we were applying for finance.

By leveraging our industry relationships and workshopping the options with specialist lenders we were able to secure an approval and meet the settlement date.

Our client was able to have the best of both worlds, a new opportunity as a self-employed contractor and securing their investment property.
